Violet candle ritual to listen to your intuition
Intuition is that inner voice that sometimes knows what is good for us before we do, yet between daily rush and noise it is hard to hear. The colour violet is traditionally associated with intuition, spirituality and inner wisdom, which is why it is one of the most used in rituals of introspection. This ritual helps you find some silence, pay attention to your feelings and trust yourself a little more.
In short: Intuition is that inner voice that sometimes knows what is good for us before we do, yet between daily rush and noise it is hard to hear. You need 4 simple items and 5 steps. When: At night, when the house is calm, or before a tarot reading.
When to do it
At night, when the house is calm, or before a tarot reading. The full moon and the new moon are traditional phases for introspection.
What you need
- A violet candle in a stable holder
- A notebook and a pen
- A glass of water
- A tarot card you like (optional)
Step by step
- Place the candle on a surface that cannot burn, away from curtains and paper, and light it. Sit comfortably and take a sip of water.
- Close your eyes and breathe slowly ten times. Notice how your body feels: tension, calm, tingling… without judging anything.
- Write a simple question about something on your mind. Below it, note the first answer that comes to you, without overthinking.
- If you have the card, look at it for a few minutes and write down which image or word catches your attention and how it relates to your question.
- Put out the candle with a snuffer, without blowing. Over the next few days, write down in the notebook any coincidences or hunches you notice.
Safety first
Never leave a lit candle unattended. Place it in a stable, heat-resistant holder away from curtains, paper, children and pets, and put it out with a snuffer.
These rituals are symbolic. Do not ingest herbs or oils, ventilate the room when burning incense or herbs, and never perform a ritual to harm or control anyone.
To finish
Intuition is a good companion, but it does not replace information: for important money or work decisions, check your hunches against facts and professionals. Never leave the candle burning unattended or within reach of children or pets. To keep listening to yourself, pair it with the walnut ritual or the moon water ritual.
