Sticky-note ritual to plan your work week
Starting the week with a head full of to-dos is a recipe for overwhelm. Sticky notes—visible and easy to move—help you get tasks out of your mind and into a realistic plan. This ritual invites you to choose only three priorities per day and meet the week with more calm and focus.
In short: Starting the week with a head full of to-dos is a recipe for overwhelm. You need 4 simple items and 5 steps. When: Sunday afternoon or early Monday, before you open your inbox.
When to do it
Sunday afternoon or early Monday, before you open your inbox. The waxing moon is the traditional phase for organising what you want to grow.
What you need
- A pad of sticky notes
- A pen
- Your calendar or planner
- A wall, corkboard, or the edge of your monitor
Step by step
- Write every pending task for this week on separate notes (one task per note), without sorting yet.
- Keep only what matters: group items, drop what can wait, and choose at most three notes per workday.
- Stick the notes in columns (Monday to Friday) where you can see them. Leave an empty space labelled «if time left».
- Each morning, look only at that day's three and start with the hardest or most urgent.
- When you finish a task, remove or tick the note. On Friday, review what you did, celebrate progress, and move leftovers to next week with realism.
Safety first
These rituals are symbolic. Do not ingest herbs or oils, ventilate the room when burning incense or herbs, and never perform a ritual to harm or control anyone.
To finish
Three well-done priorities beat an endless list. If work keeps demanding more than is reasonable, talk to your manager or worker representation. To keep caring for your work rhythm, pair it with the hourglass ritual or the achievement-list ritual.
